Lisa Hannigan Live at Warsaw Proxima 28th April 2017

My shots from the excellent Lisa Hannigan gig at Warsaw Proxima last night:

Only discovered Lisa Hannigan last year but, as I often say, better late than never.

Was always going to like the Folky tunes I was familiar with like 'Fall' and 'Passenger'.

But was surprised to see that I enjoyed the more up-tempo tunes (e.g. 'Undertow') that I was less familiar with even more.

Also enjoyed the opening act, Saint Sister:

Thus, all in all, a really pleasant evening of subtle, introspective-type music.

Bratislava: An Interesting Short Walk

An interesting 10-minute stroll here starting from the Catholic priest seminary (above and below) which stands near St. Martin's Cathedral.

Just read that Svetozar Hurban Vajansky was a Slovak poet, lawyer and newspaper editor:

Think this statue is of Plato or Socrates:

And this street lead to something really interesting:

A Knights of Malta building:

And just round the corner, I found this wonderful-looking church:

The archway below led me deeper into the Old Town:

Had to get a last snap of the church:

Then came upon this incredible, narrow courtyard:

Bratislava: Beautiful Building at Sundown

Went past this beautiful building in an easily missed Square in Bratislava Old Town at sundown.

Bratislava: A Colourful Doorway

Could see that someone had put a lot of effort into making this door (round the back of St. Martin's Cathedral) more colourful.

Bratislava: Some Other Interesting Buildings

Was walking back from the Old Town to the train station in Bratislava when this building literally jumped out and said "Hello" (yeah, it caught my attention):

The same goes for the building below which also caught my eye between Bratislava Old Town and the train station:

And the wonderful Catholic church building below:

Bratislava: Passing the Slovak National Museum Building

Another thing that caught my eye in Bratislava was the long, rectangular Slovak National Museum building near the river:

Nearby, there was what looked like a War memorial:

Passing the Opera House in Bratislava Old Town, would've loved to have seen what the place looked like inside.

Above, there's a panoramic shot of St. Martin's Cathedral from Bratislava Castle.

Below, there's a shot reaching out to the roads, river and beyond from Bratislava Castle:

Bratislava: Passing the Government Office

Not far from the bus and train stations, passing the Government Office in Bratislava.

Bratislava Cathedral: Close-Up Shots

Some close-up shots of St. Martin's Cathedral in Bratislava, which I've just read dates back to the 13th century.

Have also just read that St. Martin's Cathedral was a coronation church for Kings and Queens of Hungary between 1563 and 1830.

Bratislava: Fountain Girl with Deer Statue

Yet another subtle and interesting thing we found round Bratislava Old Town, the 'Fountain Girl with Deer' statue:
