Bury (Lancashire): St. Joseph's (Chesham) Dining-Hall and Library


A couple more of the amazing old St. Joseph's RC junior school pictures that went round one of the 'Old Bury' Facebook sites recently, starting with the dining-hall, which doubled up as the assembly hall, above.

 Like my old friend Simon Cusick says, the picture above helps you to revisualise the delicious thick custard that was poured from big metal jugs.  To this wonderful image, I would add really tasty chocolate custard and Manchester tart, how I miss these kinds of things. 

And below, there's a shot of the St. Joseph's library room.  Had almost forgotten about this place.  Can't really remember if my love of reading had started here or not.
