Warsaw Prog in Park III, July 12th 2019

As expected, the first day of the Warsaw Prog in Park III event proved the highlight of last weekend.

Thankfully, I got up to the Progresja in time to catch first band, Sermon. Had been listening to their debut album, 'Birth of the Marvellous' all week, and right from 'The Descend' all way through, I enjoyed the set.

At the end, the anonymous, masked singer, with an elegant southern English voice, revealed that this was the first time the band had played live.

As expected, Alcest were great, saw them a few years ago opening for Opeth at the Progresja.

Thankfully, the band did 'Là où naissent les couleurs nouvelles', my favourite Alcest tune.

Not sure what to make of TesseracT,

will have to give them a further listen to make my mind up.

Great set by Fish kicking off with 'Big Wedge'.

Other standout tunes included 'Credo' and 'Man with a Stick'. Got an anti-Brexit speech too, preferred the music to the political preaching (not a fan of the EU, to be honest).

And finally, Opeth, this band gets better every time I see them, with this being the third occasion.

Think that 'Sorceress' is a perfect coming on song.
