Fordwich: Revisiting the Church


Having lived in Canterbury between 1999 and 2003, I knew that revisiting Fordwich would be a treat, especially seeing the old church, St. Mary the Virgin, again.

Below, my friend, who is an Anglican, can be seen walking into the church:

Have just read that the church dates back to the Norman era, like many churches in Kent, I think:


Also just read that the church closed in 1995, but was thankfully protected by the Churches Conservation Trust in 1996 (it's a Grade 1 listed building on the National Heritage List for England).
