Seeing IQ at the Summer Fog Festival was a nice trip down memory lane:
First saw IQ back in the mid-1980s when they were opening for Magnum at Manchester Apollo.
Can remember IQ releasing the Tales from the Lush Attic and The Wake albums, as part of what was known as a second wave of British Prog music, with Marillion; Twelfth Night; Pallas; Pendragon; Solstice etc.
So it was good to catch up with IQ at the Summer Fog Festival in Katowice as I hadn't seen them since 2011 (in my hometown, Bury, Lancashire).
The highlight from the IQ set in Katowice, for me, was Widow's Peak, as this was the tune that the band had come on with at Manchester Apollo all those years ago.
Really enjoyed all the other songs in the IQ Summer Fog Festival set, of course, especially Frequency.
Over the years, I've seen IQ a few times in my hometown (Bury, Lancashire) at the Derby Hall ('Met'), and aim to do so again next January (the band seem to have a liking for playing Bury in January - good on them for that, of course).
