Lisbon: Rua Augusta Arch

Couple of shots of the Rua Augusta Arch here, taken as I was heading towards the Lisbon waterfront. 

Most people tend to take pictures of the Arch from the other side in the big square, but I just found the clock format on this side of the Arch more eye-catching:

Algarve: Porches-Carvoeiro Cliff Top Walk

My good friend Dave Dealy decided to take his family and me on about a 3-mile cliff top walk from Porches to Caroeiro one Saturday afternoon.

The picture above shows that the cliff top is crumbling away in places, so, as Dave quite rightly pointed out, it would be extremely dangerous to do this walk in the dark or when it's really windy.

During the walk, we saw lots of interesting rock formations:

And the place below reminded me a bit of some of the spectacular red/sandy-coloured rocky places that I visited in Utah (e.g. Cedar Breaks) in 2008: 

And then the spectacular rock formations just kept on coming:

And when we looked back, the view was also great:

I remember the place below in particular as it kind of signalled that we were getting quite close to our destination:

And one of the last shots looking out at sea:

Warsaw: Spring in Full Bloom

As we enter May, it's good to see spring getting into full bloom in Warsaw.

Warsaw: A Nice Dark Polish Beer

This is a nice dark Polish beer that helped me to wash down a good Feta pizza at a restaurant somewhere near Nowy Swiat in Warsaw.

Lisbon Cathedral

In hindsight, I should've probably taken something like tram number 28 to have seen as much of Lisbon as possible in the three hours or so that I had to quickly explore the city.

However, I decided to take the 'wherever the wind takes me' approach on foot, and, thus, came across some great things just by accident.  Below, I was walking along the side of what appeared to be a massive church:

With trams regularly gliding by, my walk seemed to be heading towards something interesting:

And, indeed, I was greeted by the beautiful, almost castle-type front of Lisbon Cathedral:

Warsaw: Roxette Concert Poster

Not really into mainstream-type pop music, but Roxette do it really well, so you never know . . .

Seville: Entering the Atmosphere

Above, my first image of Seville after getting off the coach, a wonderful-looking hotel surrounded by palm trees.

And then approaching the incredible cathedral with silver-coloured trams skirting and sliding by:

And this city just seemed to have a sultry atmosphere down every street:
