Mary Komasa Live at Warsaw Orange Festival 3rd June 2016

Only discovered Mary Komasa a couple of days before the Orange Festival when checking her out on Youtube, but what a discovery!

Immediately liked a clutch of her songs ('Come'; 'City of My Dreams'; 'Lost Me' etc.), and it was great to hear these tunes live at the Orange Festival a couple of days later.

Really like Mary Komasa's voice, it's distinctly Eastern European-sounding but it works brilliantly with the electronica/indie-type music.

Was also massively impressed with the guitarist:

Warsaw Orange Festival 2016: Pouring Down During Tom Odell

Didn't initially plan to get to the Warsaw Orange Festival early on June 4th to see Tom Odell, but at the last minute, curiosity got the better of me, but I ended up forgetting my raincoat. 

Of course, sod's law, it poured down all the way through the Tom Odell set, and I ended up watching it from a distance under cover at one of the beer stands (not a bad place to end up, of course).

Must say that from a distance, without him being my kind of music, Tom Odell sounded good.

After Tom Odell, it continued raining, albeit lighter, for another hour or so:

Warsaw Orange Festival 2016: Inside a Chemical Toilet

Not much I can say about this: I'd forgotten my raincoat; it was pouring down during Tom Odell; and one of the chemical toilets, which was incredibly clean, provided quite good shelter.

Lana Del Rey Live at Warsaw Orange Festival 3rd June 2016

Still trying to digest the Lana Del Rey concert from last night:

Found it claustrophobic down near the front, and had to retreat towards the back to get some breathing space and a nice cold drink of beer to relax with.

Further back, I saw an interesting pattern: people loving 'Born To Die'; 'Ride'; 'Video Games' etc., but retreating in noticeable droves during 'Freak'; 'Ultraviolence' etc. Can't really understand this as all these tunes are great.

Still this retreating to the 'less popular/less appreciated' tunes allowed me to make my way a bit back towards the stage:

For me, 'Ultraviolence' was the tune of the night, it just cut through the night air perfectly.

Was glad to get to see Lana Del Rey even though things were crowded and frenetic for a while.

Warsaw: Santana Concert Poster

Had to get a shot of this (Carlos) Santana billboard poster up in the trees.

Never seen Santana: I've had several opportunities but I've just never got round to it.

Can remember having a few Santana albums many moons ago, my favourite being the monumental double live album 'Moonflower' from the 1970s.

Warsaw: Iron Maiden Concert Poster

Saw this Iron Maiden concert poster while out walking the other day.

Saw Iron Maiden on the 'Number of the Beast' and 'Piece of Mind' tours in the early 1980s at Manchester Apollo, and at Castle Donington twice in the late 1980s.
