Cagliari: The Waterfront
Wasn't that interested in the cruise liner, was more taken with the beautiful buildings on the waterfront:
The building below screamed out to have its picture taken:
And right enough, it was a beauty:
Had known that these buildings would be worth a look through having read DH Lawrence's 'Sea and Sardinia':
But still couldn't take my eyes off the cruise liner:
Cagliari: A Street Trader
Interesting ethnography here with a Muhammadan street trader trying to sell things to Polish tourists.
Cagliari: Skyline Views
Walking down from Cagliari fortress, I was blessed to get these skyline views of the city below, it was as if the camera had turned to magic.
Cagliari: Elephant Tower
Couple of shots of the Elephant Tower from when we started descending from Cagliari Fortress to the town and water below.
Just read that the Tower was built in the early 14th century as part of Cagliari's fort defence against attacks from the Moors and the Genoese.

Cagliari Cathedral
Here, we're heading towards the steep, squat figure of Cagliari Cathedral:
Was looking forward to seeing Cagliari Cathedral after reading about it in DH Lawrence's 'Sea and Sardinia'.
According to Lawrence, the Cathedral has a warm, homely feel, and I guess that's what we felt inside the place.
One of the four marble lions:
Just read that the Cathedral was built in the 13th century in a kind of Romanesque style, and then received a Baroque makeover in the 17th and 18th centuries.
Cagliari Fortress Shots
Some shots from entering Cagliari Fortress:
The fortress offered some spectacular views of the city below:
