While heading towards Warsaw Old Town yesterday evening, I saw the back of the Capuchin church:
And round the front of the building, I saw an unusual statue of a Capuchin friar:
Don't know how long this statue has been there, but it can't be long, as I haven't seen it before.
The Capuchins are famous in Warsaw for their charity work with poor, homeless people.
Not far from the Palace of Culture in Warsaw city centre, you can see these wooden hammocks:
They are quite handily located in the shade, underneath some trees.
So, if anybody has a few too many, they can go here to peacefully sleep it off.

Not the most beautiful piece of architecture I've ever seen, but still, I found the unusual shape interesting.

Really enjoyed this gig late Saturday evening at Plac Defilad (Palace of Culture) in Warsaw:
Didn't know much about Jan Młynarski and Combo Taneczne before the concert, but really liked everything I heard at the gig.
This was late evening, not long before the start of the official Day of Remembrance for the Warsaw Uprising, so there was a definite sense of poignant nostalgia in the air.
However, somebody who studied horticulture at Warsaw University has advised me to keep some stinging nettles in the garden, because they're good for biodiversity and sustaining healthy soil.
Had this wonderful bigos (stewed cabbage and bacon) at an event commemorating the liberation of Szczebreszyn in eastern Poland during the 2nd World War:
The bigos was perfect as it just had the right amount of pepper which fused really well with the salty bacon. The bigos was made by a patriots' organisation:
