Inside Thomas Hardy's St. Juliot Church

Thought I'd foolishly forgotten to take some shots inside St. Juliot church last month, but thankfully, I found a few on an i-phone.

The one below shows the memorial to Thomas Hardy inside the church:

While the shot below shows Hardy's memorial to his wife, Emma:

In 'Discovering Hardy's Wessex', Anne-Marie Edwards (1978/1982: 49) reveals that quite some time  after Emma's death, Hardy "placed" the "memorial to her in the church".

Moreover, Edwards (1978/1982: 49) reveals that as "the Rector's sister-in-law", Emma was heavily involved with the "restoration work", which was in some ways prompted by "her interest in the architect", of course, and that Emma "laid the first stone of Hardy's new tower".

While in St. Juliot's church, I saw a notice saying that the church was now only attended by four parishioners. Really hope this Hardy sanctuary survives the test of time.
