Cheap Trick Live at Manchester Academy 28th June 2017
A few days after seeing one of my favourite bands, Blue Oyster Cult, I got to see another great American group, Cheap Trick, at Manchester Academy.
Not quite as familiar with Cheap Trick as BOC, but recognised a lot of the set ('Clock Strikes Ten'; 'Surrender'; 'I Want You To Want Me'; 'The Dream Police'; 'If You Want My Love' etc.).
And the tunes from the recently released 'We're All Alright' album, especially 'Long Time Coming', were great live too.
Had only seen Cheap Trick once before, at Manchester Academy 2 about seven years ago, when Robin Zander sang everything, so it was interesting seeing Tom Petersson singing 2-3 tunes at the recent gig:

Blue Oyster Cult Live at Manchester Academy 25th June 2017
Absolutely loved this gig from start to finish.
The first Blue Oyster Cult album being done in its entirety worked a treat, giving the first half of the gig a real psychaedelic feel especially with tunes like 'She's As Beautiful As a Foot' and 'Workshop of the Telescopes'. After this, there was an interesting mixture of well-known tunes ('Godzilla'; 'The Red and the Black'; 'The Golden Age of Leather'; 'Burnin' for You'; 'Hot Rails To Hell'; 'Don't Fear The Reaper' etc.) and lesser-known tunes ('The Vigil'; 'Tattoo Vampire'; 'Lips in the Hills' etc.). Particularly enjoyed 'Tattoo Vampire' and 'Lips in the Hills', as both tunes have an (almost) punky-type feel.

Eastern Poland: The Spiral Staircase
The spiral staircase leading up to what I guess is (or once was) the choir position in a small-town church in Eastern Poland.

Eastern Poland: The Crucifix
This crucifix, from inside a small-town church in Eastern Poland, gave me a timely reminder of what Corpus Christi (last Thursday) is all about.
