Passing through Anagaire

Passed through the Irish-speaking village of Anagaire on the way to Carrickfinn Beach (near Donegal Airport).

Had a brilliant meat and potato pastie from the supermarket in Anagaire and even managed to speak a bit of Irish while buying it.

Dunlewey Pub

Having seen Old Church Dunlewey, the Poisoned Glen, and Mount Eriggal, it was time to start walking back to Crolly, to the campsite near Leo's Tavern.

Passed the pub above while going through Dunlewey village. Didn't get to have a drink there though as it was closed, more the pity as it was a scorching, red hot day.

Final Shots of the Festival

The last of my shots from this year's A New Day Festival. Finally got to see Solstice above on the Friday, can remember them from years ago with Marillon; Pallas; IQ; Twelfth Night etc. at the start of the 1980s.

Like the previous day with Kangaroo Moon, on Saturday, we made the big mistake of getting inside the Festival site as early performers Lapis Lazuli were finishing off their set:

What we did catch was really good and wish we'd caught more.

Didn't really know what to make of Kylver (below): 

Just weren't my cup of tea.

Also didn't know what to make of Mark Stanway's Kingdom of Madness (below) despite being familiar with all the Magnum tunes (have seen Magnum many times over the years).

Still, the version of 'Tall Ships' was very good.

On Sunday, we timed our Festival entrance to coincide with Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash coming on stage (before this, we'd been having a few pints in a pub near the Festival site, a wise move given the beer inside the Festival wasn't the best I've ever had):

Besides Martin Turner, I enjoyed Leatherat on Sunday afternoon:

Reminded me of The Levellers, a good kind of Festival band.

Sacred Geometry (Band): A New Day Festival 2019

Enjoyed seeing Sacred Geometry at the New Day Festival, it was kind of perfect music for a Saturday lunchtime.

Hadn't heard of the band before but soon picked up on the Gong-type sound.

Just been reading about the band's connection to Gong/the late Daevid Allen on the internet.

Bridport: Passing Palmers Brewery

Passed Palmers Brewery while walking down from Bridport to West Bay.

The picture above shows that the brewery is located in a picturesque riverside setting.

Have just read that the brewery dates back to the late 18th century.

At the front of the brewery, there's a shop where you can buy bottles of beer.

Passing St. Juliot Schoolhouse

Was impressed with the old schoolhouse while out looking for St. Juliot church and rectory (of Thomas Hardy significance, of course).

Passing through Sturry

We passed through Sturry on route to Fordwich and were immediately impressed by the village church:

Have just sought information about the church on the internet and it seems to be St. Nicholas' Anglican & Methodist joint church. Also found out that the church building dates back to Norman times.

However, the building that really interested us was the one below:

We guessed that it might be a tithebarn, but, of course, we could be wrong.

We were more confident that the building below must've once been an oast house:

Heading down towards Fordwich, my friend was in awe over the brickwork leading up to the chimney below:
