Toledo (Spain): Bisagra Gate


Some shots of the Puerta Nueva de Bisagra Gate.  Just read on the Internet that the Gate bears the coat of arms of the Emperor Charles V (1500-1558).


Also just read that despite being Moorish in origin, most of the structure was built in 1559.



In the courtyard, the place was definitely worth a few shots, and seemed to have a kind of Romantic atmosphere:


While coming into Toledo on the bus from the train station, we noticed that the Gate was going to be well worth a look later on in the morning:
