Portland: The George Inn
While waiting for the bus for Weymouth near the Church of St. George Reforne on Portland, I was stood opposite the George Inn.
On the Internet, the George Inn is described as an 18th century pub situated at the west end of the hamlet of Reforne in the village of Easton. I've also just read that the current building was originally three buildings that were built in the 17th century, and that it became one when it was altered for a parish clerk of St. George's church in the next century.
The George Inn is also said to be the oldest, inhabited building on the Isle of Portland, and to have been a smugglers' haunt.
