Thomas Hardy's Wessex: Walking out of Lower Bockhampton


These shots kind of convey the tranquil atmosphere of walking through Lower Bockhampton on a pre-sundown stroll:


Instead of taking the right turn on the other side of the bridge, which would've taken me onto Thomas Hardy's favourite Lower Bockhampton-Stinsford path walk, I was heading towards West Stafford this evening:


And while going straight ahead, I could easily see that this was the pastoral land of Tess and Angel's courtship in 'Tess of the d'Urbervilles':
