A Covered Fountain

The fountain, in the parkland behind the Sheraton Hotel in Warsaw, is now covered for winter.

Love this part of Warsaw, winter or summer. It's a place where you can kind of get away from it all.

Ornate Balcony Flats

 These flats with ornate balconies caught my eye.

They can be found near the parkland at the back of the Sejm (Polish Parliament) building in Warsaw.

They kind of blended in nicely with the snowy landscape.

An Intriguing Building

 Near the Sheraton Hotel in Warsaw the other week, I saw the intriguing building below:

Really like the shape of this building and how it kind of stands alone baying for attention.

A Snowman at a War Memorial

 Saw this Snowman at the War Memorial (above and below).

Always pass this War Memorial when walking to the Old Town in Warsaw.

Shortly after the War Memorial, I pass a small (Franciscan) church:

 Then pass a bigger (Franciscan) church while entering the Old Town from the New Town Square end:

A Closed-Down Cinema

This cinema in the New Town Square of Warsaw Old Town seems to be shut down.

Truth be known, it may've been closed for years.

The building has some interesting drawings above the arches:

Christmas Manger Memory

                                              A Christmas manger in a Warsaw church today.

Can always remember singing Away in a Manger while at St. Joseph's Junior School in Bury, Lancashire.

My Favourite Christmas Card

Father Christmas Selling Christmas Trees

Nice shot of Father Christmas selling Christmas Trees in a part of Warsaw.

Nice to see that he had a couple of reindeer, plus a Snowman, helping him.

A Big Christmas Tree

A big Christmas Tree standing next to the Royal Palace, near the entrance to the Old Town in Warsaw.

A nice shot of the Christmas Tree looking upwards towards the sky:

At night, all the Christmas decorations will be lit up, but they still look interesting during the day.

As does the Main Square inside the Old Town:

Love the clock on the corner of the Old Town Main Square:

On the left of the picture below, an official looking man wearing a top hat is singing while playing a portable organ:

And in the picture below, there is a Christmas Tree in the New Town Square at the other end of the Old Town:

Think that the Christmas Tree poses nicely with the snow and white church building in the background.

Museum in the Snow

This museum, near the parkland behind the Sheraton Hotel in Warsaw, looked wonderful in the snow a few days ago.

Not sure what the museum is dedicated to, but it looked great from all angles:

 

Must have a look inside this place some time.

Closed Fruit and Veg Place

Saw this fruit and veg kiosk (in Warsaw) closed up the other day.

Hope that it's only temporarily closed due to the bad weather.

Really hope that it's not another small business victim of globalisation.

Was nice and colourful seeing the fruit and veg spread out in front of the kiosk.

Skate Park in Snowy Garb

Behind the Sejm (Polish Parliament) in Warsaw, lies some great parkland which contains an interesting skate park.

Managed to get a few shots of the skate park in full snow garment the other day:

And curiosity prompted me to have a walk round to see what the front looked like:

It does look like a very official set up, wonder if the politicians go skating there?

The Sitting Snowman

Came across this sitting snowman in the parkland behind the Sheraton Hotel in Warsaw.

From a distance, I thought that the figure was a real person, but as I drew closer, I found otherwise:

The sitting snowman was incredible but sadly his hat was missing.

Mass in a Church Basement

The Old Latin Mass in the basement chapel of the Church of the Holy Cross on Krakowskie Przed. in Warsaw.

It almost felt like attending Mass in some ancient catacombs.

Always an honour to attend an Old Latin (Tridentine) Mass, of course.

The Outside Gym Face

 At one of the outside gyms near the Citadel in Warsaw, there's an interesting face:

Can't help but notice it when I go to this outside gym, as it kind of looks like an alien.

At nearly 57 years of age, I'm kind of limited in what I can do at this outside gym, but I still usually manage to get a decent workout.

The Cabbage Patch

Another flashback to summer here through a shot of one of the neighbour's cabbage patches in Eastern Poland.

Not far away, the neighbour's herd of goats would love to be let loose on the cabbage patch:

The Fountain

Behind the Sheraton Hotel in Warsaw, there lies some great parkland and other interesting things, including the fountain above.

If you walk past the fountain, as below, you find yourself heading towards the river:

And passing a rather strange structure:

Not sure what the purpose of the thing above is, to be honest.

A Strange Face

 Saw this strange face down a side street near the Sheraton Hotel in Warsaw.

It really caught my eye.
