With two good friends, I went to the Stonedead Festival at Newark-on-Trent Showground to see one band in particular, Blue Öyster Cult.
Alongside the likes of Rush and Kansas, BOC have been one of my favourite bands for well over 40 years, so it was great to catch up with them again.
After a three-minute video introduction, BOC came on with Transmaniacon MC, followed by Before the Kiss, a Redcap, both tunes from the first BOC album.
Still view the first and second BOC albums as great psychedelic works.
It was also great to hear tunes from the BOC glory years (roughly mid-1970s to early 1980s), such as Golden Age of Leather; Burnin' for You; E.T.I.; Godzilla; and of course, Don't Fear the Reaper.
But the highlight of the set had to be Then Came the Last Days of May where Buck Dharma excels, of course.
Really hope I get to see BOC again, it was great catching up with them at Stonedead.
Feel honoured to have seen BOC quite a few times over the years.
