Looe: Retreat into Kilminorth Woods

 After Vanessa Forero:

and Webmoms, who were both very good:

I felt that I'd taken my fill of Kernowfornia and just needed a quiet Sunday.

So I headed for Kilminorth Woods, a place I wanted to see before leaving Looe:

A noticeboard just before the entrance to Kilminorth Woods stated that the place was part of an old smugglers' way which led to Liskeard and even on to Boscastle:

Anyway, my woodland walk:

 Soon offered mental relief:

Just what I needed after 2-3 days of frenetic haze.

Wordsworth is right, Nature can be a massive re-energising force:

I felt my serotonin levels increase as I continued to walk.

A mile or two into the woods, I came upon a small settlement:

 More natural beauty:

And soon after, I came upon an interesting-looking campsite:

From a distance, I could see that the campers were fishing and had wood fires burning, it looked like great, old-fashioned camping.

Would love to know what this old building once was:

For me, the point below signalled the right time to turn back towards Looe:

As I got closer back towards Looe:

I was greeted by a swan:

A fitting end to my afternoon saunter as sundown started to appear:
