Steve Rothery Band - Warsaw Progresja (29-09-23)

A few shots of the Steve Rothery Band taking well-earned applause at the end of their fantastic set at Warsaw Progresja on 29th September 2023:

This was the first night of the band's Weekender at the Progresja, the Misplaced Childhood Night, while the following night was the Clutching at Straws Night.

Really liked all three of the opening solo tunes of the set, especially Old Man of the Sea.

And then, as advertised, the crowd were treated to the whole of the Misplaced Childhood album.

Can remember playing Misplaced Childhood to death on vinyl between the mid and late 80s, and seeing Marillion at Castle Donington (1985) and Milton Keynes Bowl (1986) around the time. I was about 19-20.

At Warsaw Progresja, The Steve Rothery Band did Misplaced Childhood brilliantly, especially Bitter Suite, my favourite tune from the album.

After doing Misplaced Childhood, the band gave the crowd more classic Marillion tunes, such as Jigsaw; Freaks; Garden Party; and Market Square Heroes.

Was massively impressed with how Martin Jakubski handles the vocals (the same was the case some years ago, when I also saw The Steve Rothery Band do Misplaced Childhood at the Progresja).

Yeah, this gig was a really nice trip down memory lane.

Just wish that I'd gone to the Clutching at Straws Night too.
