Szczebrzeszyn (Eastern Poland): Marian Roadside Shrines

Away from the hub and stress of Warsaw, it was nice to get away to Szczebrzeszyn in eastern Poland a few weeks ago.  Really like the Marian roadside shrines in Szczebrzeszyn, they fit in nicely with the general calmness of the place.

In reality, you can more or less see these kinds of roadside shrines all over Poland, but I worry about the future of such shrines as the politically-'correct' totalitarian ideology of the West is now entering into Poland at an alarming speed.

  1. Rubbish! Political correctness has not been heard of in Poland yet. With the Polish type of pagan-Catholic mentality there is very little chance they will ever get rid of this double-think tradition.

    1. Thankfully, this is somebody I know doing a wind up.

  2. This is just a personal remark and it doesn't address the issue in question.

  3. Many Poles that I speak to are worried about political 'correctness' (especially gay propaganda) spreading in big Polish cities due to an increasingly politically 'correct' (cultural leftist) media controlling public perception in Poland (i.e. the Western Frankfurt School technique of controlling the media = controlling people's minds).

Why would anyone want to get rid of Polish folk religion in places like Szczebrzeszyn? It's beautiful!!!
