Bury (Lancashire): A Gothic Church in Radcliffe

While in my hometown, Bury (Lancashire), over summer, I finally got to take a few pictures of the wonderful Church of St. Thomas and St. John, with St. Philip, in the centre of Radcliffe.

Have just read that this church is Gothic in perpendicular design and was consecrated in 1864, thus, it's not that old.

Have also just read that the clock tower was added to the main church building in the early 1870s.

For many years, I'd erroneously thought that the Church of St. Thomas and St. John must be the parish church of Radcliffe, but of course, that title belongs to the even more stunning St. Mary the Virgin, which lies on the edge of Radcliffe next to Close Park.
