Passing Oxford Castle

Heading towards the train station, we came across Oxford Castle.

Have just read that most of the original moated, motte-and-bailey castle was replaced by a stone structure in the 12th or early 13th century, and that in the 14th century, it started to be used more as a prison.

However, most of Oxford Castle seems to have been destroyed during the English Civil War, in the mid-17th century.

Around Oxford Castle, we saw quite a few Italians and Oriental people taking an interest in the place.
