Bury: River Irwell to Elton Raz

I joined the River Irwell somewhere near the Wellington Street Viaduct,

Near St. Gabriel's, not far from Bury town centre.

Soon, I was walking alongside the Irwell:

Seeing quite a lot of giant hogweed:

The path was generally overgrown, I passed a few electricity pylons:

At one point, I found myself over in the Wharf industrial estate:

Seeing some strange woke kind of art:

And a Metrolink tram pass by on its way to Bury from Manchester:

Thankfully, I spotted the Monkey Bridge and recovered my bearings:

And crossed the river:

Very soon finding the embankment to Elton Reservoir,

Colloquially known as Elton Raz (or even Elton Rez).
