We passed the wonderful-looking Ferry Cottage (above) while walking from the train station to the Landgate (Gatehouse) in Rye.
From all angles, Ferry Cottage looked great, with a very interesting chimney:
Nearby, there seemed to be all kinds of workmen sheds, some still used, and others not:
Along the main road, we saw some quite interesting buildings:
With even more modern buildings looking the part:
And after a short while, we came upon the wonderful Landgate which I've just read, dates back to the 14th century:
Just inside the Landgate, we saw that Rye was having some kind of music/arts festival:
Inside the top-of-the-town walls, things started to look far more touristic.
