Inch Beach Sand Dunes

We didn't camp in Inch Beach sand dunes, but some hardy souls did so:

We decided against it because it'd been cold camping in Dingle the previous night, and we guessed that it would be warmer on the higher ground of the Inch campsite than near the sea.

But still, the sand dunes do look a great place for camping.

Both on the beach and in the sand dunes, I couldn't help but think of David Lean's Ryan's Daughter, but my friend told me that the beach/sand scenes from this film had been filmed all around the Kerry coastline and further afield.

The previous day we'd passed Coumeenoole Beach on the Slea Head Way, one of the famous film locations for Ryan's Daughter, but hadn't given it the attention it deserved.

But still, my friend emphasised that Inch Beach was famous for the horse-race scene in Ryan's Daughter.

One afternoon, I ended up dozing in the Inch Beach sand dunes as the grass offered some shade and respite from the relentless sun:

Yeah, the sand dunes were a decent place for a kip.
