Turton-Entwistle Reservoir Revisited

When I'm in Bury, my friend always drives us up to the Turton-Entwistle Reservoir for a bit of a walk:

It kind of breezes an hour or so away.

My friend likes the walk because he says that it gets him away from the rat-race.

Have just read that the Turton-Entwistle Reservoir was constructed in the1830s, and with the adjoining Wayoh Reservoir, provides about 30% of Bolton's drinking water.

This year, we saw that the water level was extremely low near the Entwistle Viaduct:

This summer (2022) has to compare with 1976 for its heatwave and lack of rain.

Have just read that the Entwistle Viaduct is made up of nine semi-circular arches, and was built between 1847 and 1848 for the Blackburn, Darwen, and Bolton railway service.

Yeah, Turton-Entwistle Reservoir is a good place to revisit.
