A few pictures from the famous Lipica Stud Farm in Slovenia which dates back to 1580. Was happy to get a couple of pictures of a Lipizzaner mare and her dark foal (I'm no expert on horses, I just read a leaflet and listened to a guide as I was going round the place in a group):
However, what probably stood out most for me was the mural in the Lipica Museum below which depicts the Classical mythological origins of the horse:
The tired-looking Lipizzaner below seems to be well the other side of retirement age:
