Bye to Tintern Abbey, Hi to Stroud

After visiting St. Mary's Penterry, we got quickly packed up, and caught the bus back to Chepstow from Tintern Abbey, it'd been a hectic 17-18 hours or so.

Of course, we had something to eat in Wetherspoons, and then it was time for leaving Chepstow on the Nottingham train:

Which took us as far as Gloucester:

Where we had to catch a delayed bus to Stroud because of some kind of rail work on the Gloucester-Stroud line.

But still, Stroud did look a welcoming place when we eventually arrived, late afternoon:

The bridge above kind of guided us somewhere towards the town centre, but along the way, a Premier Inn wanted 190-pound for the night to stay there.

Needless to say, we sought accommodation elsewhere, and found it on Stan's Field, which, although it was camping again, offered wonderful views of Stroud town centre:

Stan's field cost us just 20-quid each for camping two nights, and as the friendly owner promised, it was nice and peaceful up there.

Near Stan's field, there were also some picturesque buildings:

And with its compost toilets and outdoor sink, we had just what we needed at Stan's Field, it certainly beat wild camping on a hill above Tintern Abbey.

On the first night at Stan's Field, I think that I slept for about 10 hours as I was absolutely knackered.

So glad that I spotted Stan's Field on the Internet before setting out on my holiday to England.
