During the week, I accidentally came across the remains of the Bank of Poland building which was nearly all destroyed in (as far as I know) the Uprising against the German occupation in August 1944. The building is located near the Ratusz ArsenaĆ metro station on Ulica Bielanskiej:
When you get a closer look at the building, you can see all kinds of what I guess must be German gunfire and shrapnel marks:
Yes, here, you can get some kind of sense of what the Polish people had to endure during the German occupation.
