When I set out from Hawkshead to Wray Castle, I never expected to see the shoreline of Lake Windermere:
So seeing it just beyond Wray Castle was a massive bonus.
In previous times, I've only really seen Windermere in built up places like Windermere, Bowness, Ambleside etc. so seeing it in a serene place was interesting:
Love how the trees shrouded such a great lake:
With an old boathouse adding something to the atmosphere:
All in all, it was great looking across Windermere from this quiet spot.
Can remember Wordsworth mentioning Windermere quite a lot in The Prelude.
