Walking the Slea Head Way

Having said goodbye to Dunquin and the Great Blasket Island, we ended up marching round the Slea Head coastline to Dingle.

Not long after setting off, we passed the White Crucifixion Scene at the side of the road:

From here, we could look back towards the Blasket Islands.

Soon after, we passed a couple of sheep:

Plus an interesting part of the road:

Where a mountain stream crossed over and moved onto the Sea.

But things got pretty arduous, it felt like we had 25-pound or so in our rucksacks, and there was a long way to go.

At times, the coastline road was pretty dangerous, with path-less stretches and heavy wagons rolling by.

But still the sun shone.

Really liked the concrete gate post made of sea shells below:

And some of the houses were colourful:

Some fields were full of hay bails:

But still, Dingle couldn't come quick enough.

The coastline walk from Dunquin to Dingle is said to be about 16-20 kilometres. It turned out to be a gruelling day.
