Several students told me that this was one of the most beautiful sights in Europe. One important thing here is that I remember the Cathedral being free to get in after 5pm weekdays and Saturdays and all day Sunday. Before 5pm, I remember it being 3-pound (probably 5-pound now) to get in. If all this is still the case, the obvious logical thing to do is to visit it after 5pm.
