The Tour de France approaching Canterbury, Kent

Rather than jostle for a position at the Canterbury (stage) finish line, I walked for miles outside Canterbury, well beyond Knackington Farm.  When you see the gendarme, the siren goes, and you get the camera ready.  Then, it's just 'Whooooosh!!!', and it's over in a couple of seconds, but you feel as if you've been through a spiritual experience.  This is the only way I can describe it, it's really magical.  I'm lucky enough to have seen the Tour de France twice nearing Canterbury, and I'm grateful for that.
