Heading towards Brierfield was nothing new, I was on the Liverpool-Leeds Canal.
At some point, a heron was quietly waiting to fish:
After Brierfield, I was in new territory, heading towards Nelson and Colne:
The houses seemed to lie a bit on top of each other:
Things still looked a bit industrial by the side of the canal:
I spotted a church building across the water:
This looked like the redundant church of St. Mary's in Nelson, but I wasn't sure.
Not long after, I was passing a river:
Eventually, I reached the start of Barrowford Locks:
Time to find an old school friend.
