Once on the Great Blasket Island, we were greeted with a steady wind and great views from every direction.
The blue sea background blended in with the cottaged ruins:
We soon came across a guide explaining how the Great Blasket Island had been evacuated in the 1950s:
We made our way towards the beach:
The hostel and cafe seemed to be reserved for American tourists.
We'd brought our own food and drink across:
Somebody at the cafe pointed us towards the best place to camp:
Directly above the beach, now the heart of the island.
