What a nice surprise this was, Crummock Water only being a 15-minute or so walk away from Buttermere:
While there, we saw quite a few Eastern Europeans standing on surfboards and kind of rowing out into the water.
The place was absolutely stunning, they couldn't have picked a better spot.
Have just read that Crummock Water is about 2.5 miles long and 0.6 miles wide, and is situated between Loweswater and Buttermere.
Besides this, Crummock Water provides water for such towns as Whitehaven and Workington.
Must really visit this part of the Lake District again, it really is spectacular, without there being too many tourists.
