Love it when seeing a great band for the first time surpasses your expectations.
And that's what happened with Counting Crows last night, they were fantastic:
Have only recently come to truly appreciate the genius of this band, and last night, the Stodoła crowd were enchanted by a succession of really well-crafted songs: Colorblind; Omaha; Miami; Washington Square; A Long December; Rain King etc., and of course, Mr. Jones and Round Here (a true epic).
What I loved about this gig was the almost endless diversity of musical style displayed on stage.
For some reason, right from the start in the early 1990s, Counting Crows kind of passed over my radar, but, thankfully, not anymore.
